HADLEY, Mass. – Graduate quarterback Spencer Fetter (Winter Park, Fla.) was selected as the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Co-Offensive Player of the Year, while 13 of his teammates received All-NESCAC First and Second Team selections, announced by the league office Tuesday.
Along with Offensive Player of the Year honors, Fetter was selected All-NESCAC First Team along with sophom*ore running back Tyler DiNapoli (West Haven, Conn.), junior wide receiver Sean Clapp (Wyckoff, N.J.), senior offensive lineman Anthony Casillo (Staten Island, N.Y.), senior offensive lineman Patrick Donovan-Jenkins (Bethesda, Md.), senior defensive lineman Joseph Lepore (Winchester, Mass.), graduate defensive lineman Cooper Mandel (Ramsey, N.J.), graduate linebacker Michael Masse (Dedham, Mass.), graduate defensive back Hunter Tully (Taunton, Mass.), and junior kicker Matthew Jumes (Franklin, Mass.).
Graduate wide receiver Nicholas Zalanskas (Andover, Mass.), graduate linebacker Cade Klarides-Ditria (Seymour, Conn.), graduate defensive back Darren Warren (West Haven, Conn.), and sophom*ore defensive back Tyler Jameson (Lawrence, N.J.) received All-NESCAC Second Team status.
Fetter, a 2023 New England Football Writers (NEFW) All-New England selection, completed 185-of-292 passes for 2,567 yards, averaging 285.2 yards per game, with 32 touchdowns. Fetter set new program single-season marks for passing yards, touchdowns and passing yards per game. In a 58-21 victory over Bowdoin in his final game as a Bantam, Fetter threw for a career-high 378 yards while setting a new program single-game high with seven passing touchdowns, earning NESCAC Offensive Player of the Week honors. Fetter owns the program's all-time record for passing yards (7,468) and passing touchdowns (80). Nationally, Fetter ranked 12thin passing touchdowns, 13thin passing yards per game (285.22) and 18thin passing efficiency (171.31). Fetter is Trinity's first Offensive Player of the Year selection since Max Chipouras in 2018. Fetter collected All- NESCAC Second Team honors in 2022, and First Team honors in 2021.
Clapp delivered one of top seasons for a Trinity receiver racking up 1,169 yards on 74 receptions with 14 touchdowns. Clapp set new single-season records for receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns, while averaging 129.8 yards per game. During a 58-21 win at Bowdoin, Clapp hauled in a career-high 14 receptions for a career-high 241 yards with three touchdowns. Nationally, Clapp ranked fourth in receiving yards per game, seventh in receptions per game (8.1), ninth in receiving yards, and 12thin receiving touchdowns. Clapp was a 2023 NEFW All-New England selection, and received All-NESCAC Second Team status in 2022.
Reigning NESCAC Rookie of the Year, DiNapoli registered 956 all-purpose yards with nine touchdowns en route to his first All-Conference selection. DiNapoli paced the Bantams ground attack with a team-high 701 yards on 113 carries with five touchdowns, while adding 24 receptions for 255 yards and four touchdowns. DiNapoli became the 36th player in program history to reach the 1,000 rushing yard plateau in a career during a 52-7 win over Bates. Nationally, DiNapoli ranked 30th with an average of 6.2 yards per carry during the season.
Jumes picks up back-to-back First Team selections after connecting on a perfect 14-of-14 field goal attempts, and 46-of-48 PATs on the season. Jumes converted 6-of-6 attempts from 20-29 yards, 5-of-5 attempts from 30-39 yards and 3-of-3 attempts from 40-49 yards. Against Middlebury, Jumes knocked through a career-high five field goals, including a career-long 44 yarder. Jumes was the only Division III kicker in the nation to notch a 100% conversion rate on his field goal attempts this season. Jumes was voted the top kicker in New England by the NEFW in 2023.
Casillo and Donovan-Jenkins, a two-time First Team selection, helped anchor the Bantams offensive line that allowed a league-low four sacks on the season. Offensively, the Bantams led the NESCAC in points per game (44.4), yards per game (481.4) and passing yards per game (309.1), and ranked third in rushing yards per game (172.3).
Defensively, the Bantams limited opponents to a league-low 12.8 points per game. The Bantams ranked second in yards allowed per game (256.9), including a league-low 583 rushing yards on the season. Masse led the Bantams with a team-high 36 tackles, including 6.5 tackles for a loss, with a team-high 3.5 sacks, and made an appearance on offense, hauling in a 1-yard touchdown pass. Tully, a 2022 Second Team selection, notched 34 tackles with 2.5 tackles for a loss, along with four pass break ups, an interception and a fumble recovery. On the line, Mandel registered 26 tackles, 6.5 tackles for a loss and 1.5 sacks with six pass breakups and a forced fumble, while Lepore added 15 tackles, five tackles for a loss, four pass breakups and two sacks.
For the Second Team selections, Zalanskas recorded 200 yards on 11 receptions with four touchdowns, while Klarides-Ditria picked up consecutive Second Team selections after tallying 29 tackles, 5.5 tackles for a loss, five pass breakups, two interceptions, and a fumble recovery. In the Bantams secondary, Jameson was a co-leader in the NESCAC in interceptions with five, while adding 26 tackles and a fumble recovery. Warren pulled down three interceptions with 14 tackles and five pass breakups.
